The ROC team participates to the new IPCEI project (European framework for the funding of new industrial sectors), ME/CT (Micro-Electronics and Communication Technologies) chapter, on the automation of OpenRAN architecture with 5G and beyond 5G networks. The project is coordinated by Orange, and is in collaboration with CEA, Ekinops, Eurecom, Kalrey, IMT, Obvious and runs from 2024 to 2027.
Our contribution will be on the design of NetFPGA-based acceleration technologies for OpenRAN and on the experimentation of network automation algorithms in the OpenRAN-based 5G infrastructure.
