The ROC teal is involved in a new Horizon Europe project titled NEXGEN 3D NETWORKS SPIN HARMONIES ACROSS 6G, AI, AND UNIFIED TN/NTN (NexaSphere).

The project is about the design of future 6G systems and in particular the integration between Terrestrial Networks (TN) and Non Terrestrial Networks (NTN), joining forces with 19 partners coordinated by SAFRAN:

Our contribution will be twofold:

  • on the design of multi-connectivity system able to make joint use of radio, optical wireless and standard interfaces in both indoor (e.g. LiFi, 5G, Ethernet) and outdoor (e.g. FSO, 5G, ISL) environment, and related routing and forwarding algorithms, with the responsability of a WP on this matter.
  • on the evaluation of our network automation framework for NTN environment in the orchestration of edge computing services and virtualized network functions, with the responsibility of one task on this matter.

The project is in the framework of the 6G-IA association to which Cnam, with the ROC team, is active member. The 6G-IA association is part of the Smart Network and Service (SNS) Joint Undertaking (JU) public-private company built to design future generation networks.
