Title : Design and Analysis of Novel Distributed and Mobile Networked Systems
Abstract
This document provides an overview of my research, particularly focusing on distributed systems, wireless networks, and emerging technologies. In an era dominated by digital technology, the significance of distributed systems and wireless networks as indispensable components of modern computing infrastructure cannot be overstated. First the document addresses security aspects in distributed systems focusing on enhancing the robustness of distributed applications through innovative approaches like Bloom Filters and Blockchain technology. The proposed solutions aim to mitigate false positive attacks and ensure secure consensus mechanisms in mesh networks, culminating in a multi-chain system for securing multi- tenant clouds. In the context of vehicular networks, we present some contributions particularly in Delay-Tolerant Networks (DTNs) and Cellular Networks. Innovative strategies leveraging boat trajectories in the Amazon area of Brazil for content distribution, along with novel resource allocation algorithms for safety-oriented Vehicle- to-Everything (V2X) communications, are presented. We explore data collection in IoT systems, presenting practical applications and data imputation mechanisms. From analyzing weather data in Rio de Janeiro to deploying drones for wildlife monitoring in urban forests, we demonstrate novel approaches for efficient data collection in IoT environments. We shift focus to live video streaming analysis, offering in- sights into user behavior patterns, streaming performance metrics, and comparative analysis between mobile and non-mobile device users. Additionally, an overview of mobile streaming technology and its implications is provided. Lastly, the manuscript outlines future research directions encompassing anomaly detection, autonomous re- configuration for 5G networks, and integration of non-terrestrial networks. These endeavors aim to advance anomaly detection systems, optimize network manage- ment, and ensure robustness in the face of evolving technological landscapes.
